atthew Gallagher, an Italian trained designer and illustrator,

debuted his eponymous womenswear luxury brand in March 2013 after

being scouted by Toronto based designer management company THE

COLLECTIONS.

Born and raised in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Gallagher embarked on a summer

learning experience in New York at the age of 16. Among his experience at

Parsons, he completed an internship that summer with Tracy Reese. Gallagher

managed to challenge all odds and also received letters of recommendation from

Tom Ford and Kal Ruttenstein.

Gallagher moved to Milan at 21 and enrolled in design school at Istituto Marangoni

and completed his studies at Istituto Europeo di Design in 2012. It was in Milan where

Gallagher crafted his fine attention for detail and his aesthetic evolved. Post graduation

Gallagher worked as a costume designer in Milan and Paris for Ubisoft as well as a

freelance illustrator for Ports 1961.

Currently based in Toronto, Gallagher maintains strong ties with Italy by importing hand

selected fabrics each season from small loyal shops in Milan. The pieces, in their entirety, are

hand crafted in his Toronto studio to assure quality and fit are never compromised.
